    Major Exemptions and Deductions

    • Retirement Fund Contribution

      Contributions to approved funds like Provident Fund (PF/EPF), Citizen Investment Trust (CIT), and Social Security Fund (SSF) are deductible. The maximum deduction is the lowest of:
      a) Actual contribution amount
      b) One-third (1/3rd) of your gross annual income
      c) NPR 500,000
    • Life Insurance Premium

      You can claim a deduction for the premium paid on your life insurance policy, up to a maximum of NPR 40,000 per year.
    • Medical Insurance Premium

      You can claim a deduction for health insurance premiums paid for yourself or your family, up to a maximum of NPR 20,000 per year.
